SUMMARY:Traditional Irish Music Session
DESCRIPTION:Traditional Irish music (the jigs\, reels\, slides and songs) are intimately connected to the history and culture of the Irish. It is a part of the soul of a people who have come through incredible hardship and struggles. \nAn Irish “seisiun” is a gathering of accomplished musicians who not only know many of the traditional Irish tunes and songs\, but often know a lot about Ireland – it’s history and culture. There is often one or two people (the especially accomplished musicians) who are informal leaders. One or two folks will start a tune (music without singing) and everyone who knows the tune will join in – tunes are often played in sets of two or three tunes in a row. \nThere is often discussion between sets and tunes about where the tunes came from and who may have written or performed it originally. \nFor this Irish session we will have the following very special performers – \n\nRandy Miller\nJane Orzechowski\nNatalie Backus\n\nCome see and hear what real Irish sessions are like as played by some of the finest Irish music musicians anywhere.

SUMMARY:Winter Concert Series: Kalos
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a delightful evening of great music and fine dining featuring live entertainment by Kalos and a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Mary McDonald. \nDoors open at 5:30 PM\, dinner will be served at 6:00 PM\, and the concert begins at 7:00 PM. Reservations are required. \nDinner selections include Guinness Beef Stew OR Vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie made with Whiskey-stewed Lentils & Vegetables.  Served with Homemade Irish Soda Bread & Bourbon Glazed Carrots.  Apple Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream & Coffee for Dessert. \nCost: $50 per person (includes dinner and concert)\nBYOB\nLimited to 80 guests \nKalos is drawn to water. Every performance is like stepping into a river—they never play a song the same way twice. They make music inspired by the maritime traditions of Scotland\, Ireland\, Scandinavia and North America. Their album titles—Harbour and Headland—honor the meeting point between the land and sea and they sing songs about shorelines\, seafarers and drownings. They revel in the driving danceability of Irish tunes\, but also take inspiration from the pastoral melodies and naturalistic metaphors of Scottish music. But while the music they write is forged in tradition\, it is nonetheless cast and tempered in new and unexpected ways. \nLEARN MORE/PURCHASE TICKETS

SUMMARY:Kevin Connolly
DESCRIPTION:Kevin Connolly has been in and out of trouble with words\, music\, and the truth for over two centuries. Raised on raw clams and sarcasm from the mud flats of the Irish Riviera south of Boston\, he’s been making noise—often musical\, sometimes poetic\, occasionally questionable—for most of his life. He’s written 324 songs\, 132 poems\, made thirteen albums\, two children\, and approximately 1\,213 friends\, depending on the day. \nFor over thirty years\, Connolly has carved out his own way of writing American songs—blending roots\, folk\, rock\, and stubborn Boston charm. Somewhere between John Prine’s storytelling\, Lucinda Williams’ grit\, and John Hiatt’s ragged charm\, you’ll find Connolly—narrating the world through worn characters\, backdoor confessions\, and an occasional punchline
