DESCRIPTION:Looking for that special wine for the holiday season or for a gift\, this wine tasting is for you. Join us 4-6pm on Thursday\, December 4th. \nOn a recent trip to Napa\, I was introduced to the Award Winning Gibbs Winery\, a very small winery in St Helena. When we visited\, we learned they don’t have a traditional tasting room\, so we tasted in the field and at the winemaker’s house. \nWe sampled a bright Sauvignon Blanc\, two standout Chardonnays\, a Cab Franc\, and several Cabernet Sauvignons and estate wines. Our store’s wine consultant\, Anda\, who rarely enjoys Chardonnays\, declared both of theirs exceptional. She’s bringing one\, along with the Cab Franc\, to her Napa Thanksgiving celebration\, which says everything. \nWe will be tasting 5 wines including the Sauvignon Blanc\, a Chardonnay\, The Dusty Red (a classic Bordeaux blend with a bit of a twist) a Napa-Styled Cab Franc and one of their Estate Cabernets. \nThis is a free event and very casual. Come anything between 4pm and 6pm and stay for as long as you like. DESCRIPTION:We are hosting a South African wine tasting on TUESDAY\, Nov 25th from 4-6pm. \nThe day is a departure from our normal Thursday\, but it is a holiday week \nWe had the pleasure of hosting Samantha from South Africa a few weeks ago and tasted several of her wines from Benquela Cove\, Jasper Raats and Olifantsberg wineries. They were delicious and consequently we brought in 6 of their wines. We will be tasting four of them on the 25th including a Pinot Noir\, a Chardonnay and a blended red featuring Syrah\, Mourvèdre and Carignan and a white featuring Roussanne and Chenin Blanc. \nThis is a free event and very casual. Come anytime between 4pm and 6pm and stay for as long as you like. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging presentation on the impacts of invasive species in our watershed\, featuring LSPA Executive Director and former Ecology Professor Elizabeth Harper\, along with Conservation Program Manager Susie Burbidge. Together\, they will explore the science and ecology of invasive species\, as well as the tradeoffs involved in different methods of control and prevention. Susie will highlight LSPA’s two lines of defense against aquatic invasive species: the Lake Host Program and the Invasive Watch Program.
