As summer comes to a close, what better opportunity to pause and reflect on all that Project Sunapee has accomplished over the past year? Thanks to the generosity of all you who have supported Project Sunapee through monetary or in-kind donations, by attending our ‘Sock Hop at the Top’ event, by volunteering at one of our community events or otherwise, we have been able to continue to proudly serve our community, carrying out a number of long-standing, new, and important community initiatives. Read on to learn more about our work in 2024 and exciting things still to come before we close out the year.

Maintenance of a “Community Calendar” containing valuable information about upcoming events and/or notices. To view click here.
Sponsorship of the “Sunapee Farmers Market” every Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day for the fourth and hugely successful season! Learn more.
Launched “Mary’s Food For Thought” – a new food insecurity initiative supporting school-aged children during summer months when school is not in session. To learn more and sign up for their newsletter click here.
- Sponsored the 16th annual “Green-Up Day” to help preserve the beauty of our community.
- “Adorned flagpoles” around town with Stars and Stripes flags for the summer.
- Hosted ‘Movies Under the Stars’ on Thursday nights in Sunapee Harbor – a fun, family-friend event on the lawn in front of the Ben Mere gazebo with movies projected on a ‘big’ screen!
- “Partnered with Sunapee schools” to support students, including the winter activities program and Renaissance Fair.
- Hosted “Teddy Bear Picnic” in the Harbor, a long-standing tradition showcasing the amazing Julie Love, with singing, dancing, and lots of fun for our young community members.
- In-person “Candidate’s Forum” which provided community members the opportunity to meet and greet candidates running for local town and school representative positions.
- “Welcome Baskets” for new-to-Sunapee families, packed full of local information and goodies from local businesses and supporters.
- Acted as a conduit to collect and disseminate cash and material donations for victims of the Manor House fire, which provided a means for community members to donate to those impacted.

Online Candidates Forum to provide our followers an opportunity to learn about local candidates running for state office – watch for it to come out on October 30th, 2024 via Sunapee Happenings.
Sunapee Village Christmas – a fun-filled family event on Saturday, December 14th, complete with a horse drawn sleigh, a visit from Santa Claus, elves, and lots of fun crafts and activities. Coming Soon…
