What is an Empty Bowl Dinner?
Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities.
Empty Bowls has been a successful community event in Sunapee since 2017. It was started by students and teachers at Sunapee Middle High School who wanted to give back to their community. Each year a local artist creates dozens of handmade pottery bowls. A homemade meal and dessert is then served during a community dinner at The Livery, using the handmade bowls. Each attendee may take their bowl home with them at the end of the night. To enhance the event and your experience, The Livery has teamed up with Sunapee Middle High School to offer a concert on the same night as the dinner.
All proceeds from this event go to Sunapee’s Food Pantry.
